Tofu Steak with Mushroom Sauce
1 package Mori-Nu Edamame Flavored Silken Tofu, Firm
All-purpose flour, as needed
Vegetable oil, as needed
1 stalk of green onion, chopped
2 tbsp salted butter
3 large mushrooms, sliced
11/2 king oyster mushrooms or mushrooms of choice, sliced
1/6 red bell pepper, julienne cut
1 tbsp soy sauce
Pepper to taste
- Slice tofu horizontally in half. Using a paper towel, remove excess moisture, then evenly coat tofu in flour.
- Heat oil in a frying pan, then add tofu. Cook both sides of tofu until warmed through and the surface is golden brown. Remove tofu from pan and place on a plate.
- Heat butter in a frying pan. Add mushrooms and bell pepper then season with pepper and soy sauce to taste.
- Pour mushroom sauce over the plated tofu and top with green onions.
